5. Thank inspectors and repairmen.  If they were really prompt or did a great job, you can easily attach a Starbucks card.
6. Thank your client after closing and include a $50 or $100 gift card from Home Depot, Wal-Mart or Bed, Bath & Beyond. What a great house warmer gift.
7. Send Thank You Cards for anyone who gave you a referral.  Include a gift card here as well they will really appreciate it.  Gift cards as low as $5.00 make it easy to say, “Have a cup of coffee on me!”
8. Send a card with gourmet brownies or cookies to people whose listings have expired.  Follow-up by phone to be sure they received them, and it’s a great way to start a conversation with a potential new client.

This brought back memories of when I was younger and growing up. My parents instilled the importance of sending a thank you card when you receive a gift from someone.

My parents had my sister and myself sit down and write thank you cards to family and friends that gave us gifts for our birthday, Christmas, Easter or whatever the occasion.

I have to admit as time pasted I have not continued sending out thank you cards at all.

Why?

Life got in the way. I got married, my first son passed away when he was three days old, I had another son two years later that I raised, home-schooled, I was a housewife, mother, lived with an alcoholic, abusive husband for years.

Oh, the excuses I used to WHY I didn’t take the time to thank the people that mattered the most to me. Not just for gifts I received but to show my appreciation to them for being there for me, for being a friend for caring.

Advertising is vital to any Network Marketing Business even your SendOutCards business. Starting your Multi-Level Marketing business does not have to cost your hundreds or even thousands of dollars. I want you to read that last sentence again, because it is very important.

When starting a business, be it a home based business or any other Multi-Level Marketing home business, you need to design a budget. You do not have to go broke starting your Multi-Level Marketing business.
There are many great low cost and even FREE tools including advertising that will help jump start your advertising SendOutCards business. Here are several FREE advertising ideas to help you start advertising your Multi-Level Marketing business.

1. Writing Press Releases: Writing a press release is not difficult, it is not any different that writing any other type of document. Write a press release about your SendOutCards business, your product, your company opportunity, when you have accomplished a new level of achievement in your company’s compensation plan.

There are so many reasons to write a press release, it creates great exposure for your Multi-Level Marketing business. Many websites offer tips on how to write a press release and where you can submit your press release. My favorite place is prweb http://prweb.com/ they offer tips and ideas, and FREE posting of your press release.

2. Submit Your Articles: There are many great websites and e-zines to submit your articles to. Make sure that your articles have great value to the readers and that it is informative. Writing articles is a great technique to brand you as an expert in your business. Having your articles listed on different websites and e-zines will allow other publishers to “borrow” your article for their website, e-zine or newsletter.

You want to be sure to have your “bio” at the end of each article you write also make sure that you have a link to your SendOutCards business in your bio. Your “bio” stays attached to your article no matter where or who “borrows” your article. Keep in mind having one of your articles in one e-zine it could reach potential thousands of prospects.

3. Write Blogs: Writing a blog is another great tool for your articles. Search Engines love blogs and the Search Engines spider’s blogs more often. Remember you can have several different blogs and I believe it is important to have several different blogs for your interests. For example, I have a few blogs at this time, one for recipes and cooking, one about my SendOutCards business and the third about Direct Sales and Multi-Level Marketing tips and tools.

I also plan to set up a couple of other blogs in other areas of interest to me. On your blogs you should have links to your various websites, the e-zines where your articles are located. One reason for putting your articles not only on your blogs but other websites and e-zines is that more links coming into your personal website the better the rankings in the Search Engines and of course more potential customers and prospects to your website.

4. FREE Advertising Websites: There are several of these websites on the internet. Google “FREE advertising websites” and you will get a multitude of websites to try. Remember consistency is the key here. A great way to see where you are getting your leads, from which advertising site is to use a different email address for each ad you place or you can put a different code in the ad; this helps to see what advertising website is generating the leads. Google email is free and quick to set up many different emails for this style of advertising.

5. Organize a FREE Seminar/Workshop: Sharing information that can be informative to others as well as bringing value to them is one way of creating relationships. Relationships are a significant part of growing your business and building trust with people. At the conclusion of your seminar or workshop you can share information about your SendOutCards business, service, and product or business opportunity.

Sharing with them how this business can be a valuable customer service tool. Depending on your product giving a FREE sample to each person attending along with your business cars is an excellent idea, of course having them go to your SOC site and complete a walkthrough and help them send out a card!

Give advice or as the saying goes “give your two cents” or because of inflation your “four cents” (HAHA) about a topic. Start a topic that interests you and share your tips and ideas. Give people value and a reason to trust you.

7. Email Signature: This is a very effective technique in creating publicity for your website. Do not make your signature too long or containing so much information. Keep your signature short, sweet and to the point. Use this signature not only on all your emails that you send out but any written letters.

8. Social Networking: Social Networking is all the rage these days and why not, this is an excellent method for branding yourself on the internet as an expert in your field of interest. Social Networking can promote your SendOutCards home business.

There are numerous Social Networking opportunities available online. Here are a couple of my favorite Social Networking sites. You can see how I have accomplished my sites and you can promote your Multi-Level Marketing home business online. Remember how I have my sites set up and how I have them laid out will be different than yours. There is Facebook (the #1 place), Twitter, and YouTube just to name a few.

Advertising is vital to your SendOutCards business. Without advertising either online or offline it would be very difficult to build your business into a success.

Before you leap in head first you need to set a budget, not just for advertising but for all the costs involved in starting a SendOutCards business. Not setting a budget could be the cause of your business not succeeding. It is far too easy to spend more money than you have; then your business can suffer and give you a bad outlook about Multi-Level Marketing. So work on a budget and stick with it.

Goals, I know that word can be very scary, but it doesn’t have to be, especially if you know what to do. What is a goal? A goal is something specific, something you want or need to accomplish in a specific period of time. To establish a clear, central purpose or goal in life is the starting point of all success.

There was a study several years ago at a business school and the results of the graduates who had been out of school for at least ten years illustrates the power of goals. Upon graduation the graduates were surveyed and the following was found:

When their levels of accomplishments were compared ten years later, those with some sense of their goal earned three times more than those with no goals. The 3% with clearly articulated written goals earned ten times more than those without goals.

You have goals; you may just not realize it now. I want to help you realize, develop and achieve your goals. Your goals are your promises to YOU! Goal setting is just like creating a blueprint. Lets get started creating your blueprint!

Everyone needs to learn how to set effective, realistic and SMART goals. Start the process by first creating a list of dreams. Make sure you list places you would like to visit, things you would like to experiences, items you would like to have, skills you would like to acquire and the amount of money you would like to make. Maybe you want to travel to Hawaii or Europe or you want a new house or car. You decide what you want and write it down on paper.

You will need this list to develop SMART Goals.

There is no limit to the number of goals that you set. You need to make sure your list includes goals that you are committed to attaining.

There are a few steps to take to set effective goals and we will cover those here:

Look over each goal you have on your list and ask yourself, “is this a SMART goal? Why or why not? Here are a couple of questions to ask yourself about each goal you want to set:

This is another major step in goal setting because you may see and feel necessary changes in your plan.

After you have written your “SMART Goals” you need to prioritize your long-term and short-term goals. This is a very important step in the goal-setting process because it enables you to step back and examine which goals are most important to you. This does not mean that you should ignore the goals farther down on your list, but it does help you to identify where and how to focus your efforts now.

Your goals will change over time, you will achieve some goals, and others may lose their importance as circumstances in your life change. As this happens you need to re-examine and re-prioritize your goals.

Once you have defined your SMART Goals you will need to define an action plan.

An Action Plan is an essential element of setting goals. The details that you specify in your Action Plan enable you to see what you need to do and avoid, in achieving your goals. As you develop your Action Plan, be sure to keep the following in mind:

*Write SMART Goals
*Develop your goals with a positive attitude
*Expand your knowledge
*Shape your Action Plan and commit to it
*Invest in developing effective skills and habits
*Gain results by building relationships

Here is a great way to write your goals. Be sure to use an outline for each goal you want to set. These steps will help you to define your wants.

Step 1. List one of the goals you would like to achieve be specific.
Step 2. List 3 to 5 reasons to achieve this goal. In other words, why is it important that YOU achieve this goal?
Step 3. List the steps you need to take to achieve this goal. Break the process down into reasonable steps toward achieving your goal.

Let me show you a sample goal so you can see what is involved in each of the above steps.

Step 1. The Goal: You want a new red convertible 2005 Corvette with black leather seats, automatic, with a 5 disc CD player.

(You can go into more or less detail about the car and all the extras you would like to have, it’s up to you.)

Step 2. What’s in it for me (YOU)

1. I will get the satisfactions of driving the car of my dreams.
2. I will feel important.
3. I will be the first in my family to ever own such a car.
4. I will have achieved one of my goals.

Step 3. Steps to achieve your goal. You will need to increase yearly sales by $55,000 and introduce 204 people to the business opportunity.

1. I need to increase monthly sales approximately $4,500 and increase my new business partners by 17.
2. I need to increase weekly sales approximately $1,125 and bring in 4/5 new business partners.
3. I need to increase daily sales approximately $150 and bring in no less than 1 new business partner per day.

You may want to go into greater detail than I did with this example. I just wanted to share with you how this works. Your goals may not include a car, it could be going back to school to get a degree, buying a new home or re-decorating your current home. Whatever your goals, these steps will help you to define them.

It is also important to share your newly defined goals with your family, friends and business associates.

A few reasons why people fail at achieving their goals are:

1. People take action without any real plan.
2. People give themselves an unrealistic time-frame for achieving a goal
3. Their reason for the goal is unclear; they have not properly defined the goal
4. Lack of focus. Success demands focus.
5. Trying to do it alone, nobody goes through life alone and you should not try to
achieve your goals alone. Ask for help.
6. FEAR OF FAILURE!!!! This is the biggie out of all the above. Fear resides where knowledge does not exist; the more knowledge you have about anything the less intimidated you will feel. Replace your fear with knowledge.

You now have some of the tools to achieve your goals. MAKE THIS YOUR BEST YEAR EVER!

10 years ago no one had really heard of Netflix. Today Netflix sends out, on average, 1.9 MILLION movies a day and is considered a household name, mainly because of word of mouth.

Netflix was started by two guys out of a garage they had an idea to make movies more convenient and cheaper to rent. It’s really not that Blockbuster or all the any of the other video rental companies have done anything wrong, it’s just that companies like Netflix have come along and found an easier, cheaper way to do it.

In 2009, Netflix grossed over $850 million in revenue and had profits in excess of $100 million.

Now knowing what you know today about Netflix, if 10 years ago someone would have given you an opportunity to invest a few hundred dollars with Netflix and get paid every time you referred someone to the website and they rented a movie, would you have done it? Of course you would!

What Netflix is to the movie industry, is what SendOutCards is to the greeting card industry.

SendOutCards was started by two guys out of a garage in 2004. They had an idea that people would actually go to their computers, choose a greeting card, type a message and hit send. Then SOC would actually print that card out, stuff it in an envelope, put the address on along with an actual postage stamp, and send it out for about a dollar a card.

Well, one year and about $900,000 later they realized it worked!

In 2006, SendOutCards grossed about $10.5 million; in 2007 around $25 million; and in 2008, almost $50 million. The best part is you can actually become part of this company and get paid when you send cards and help others do the same! Where will you be a year from now?
